I’ve never chosen a word for the year before. I’ve set goals for the year, I’ve done resolutions, and I’ve set intentions, but never chosen a word. This year, I set some goals around health, words, and some other things and have been writing them in my bullet journal. As I was looking through my goals this weekend, I realized that they were all related to Moving somehow.
Move: change or cause to change from one state, opinion, sphere, or activity to another.
I have physical movement. I am going to walk 1,000 miles this year, exercise for 130 hours, and I’m planking every day. I am also planning to move in other ways, but no other defined movement.
I have movement for my soul. I want to interact with words every day; either through writing or reading. I’m also going to put my scale away so that I don’t think so much about my weight every day. I will also be crafting every week.
I have movement for my professional life. There are some professional goals I *will* be reaching this year. I don’t have them completely defined yet, but it’s going to happen.
I have movement for my family. One-on-one time with each kid from William and me, and one-on-one time for William and me.
I have movement for organization. This is really about managing my anxiety. I get anxious when our home is especially messy. Strangely, this doesn’t apply to the kids’ rooms, it doesn’t drive me crazy when their rooms look like a hurricane went through. This is really more about storage areas and knowing where things are. Also, this might be about OCD tendencies too. I want to know what we have, the last time we used it, and whether I can give it away. I am only kind-of joking.
I have movement for more parts of my life, but I’m still working on them. They are evolving. There are a lot of moving parts (heh, see what I did there?), and I’m good with that. It’s fluid.
I want to change the state of all these things. I’m the Queen of Procrastination, and I want to move away from that. A lot of these plans are just to help me do it already. Move already.
I’m excited to see how Move helps me in 2017. I’ll be using #Move2017 when I take obnoxious numbers of photos this year.
Do you have a word for 2017?
