I’m Sherry, and this is my blog. I write about being a mom, a wife, a re-married widow, a crafter, and working on living a healthy life.
Mom. My two amazing boys are Nicholas (7 years old) and Tobin (3 years old). They keep me on my toes and laughing all the time.
Wife. My incredible husband, William, is wicked smart and hot and we’ve been together since 2007. William is eight years younger than me, and finds it hysterical when I reference something in pop culture that he doesn’t know about because of our age difference. Sometimes I think it’s funny too.
Widow. There is a debate among widows about when to retire the “title”. But, I feel like I’ll always be a widow because it informs so much of my life. My first husband, Mark, died in 2005, one month shy of our 10th anniversary.
Crafter. I started scrapbooking when Nicholas was a baby because I was afraid I’d forget everything about his life since it was just me. I was hooked after my first layout. I also do other crafts, mostly things I’ve picked up on Pinterest. I also really like to do a lot of hand-made stuff for the boys’ birthdays, so you’ll see party stuff on my blog too.
Healthy. This one is hard. It’s a struggle I have every day, and probably will for the rest of my life. I’m slowly working my way down from a high of 300 pounds, and I appreciate all the love and support (and tips) I get from those who are following me down this very bumpy path.
I’ve been online in some way or another since the late 1990s, and writing online since 2006. Paper, Scissors, Keyboard is a few years old (but you’ll find some older entries that we moved over from older blogs). All my writing before the late 1990s is in angst-filled notebooks that are best left packed away. So much angst.
Professionally, I’ve been a Public Relations counselor since 1997 and have always worked for not-for-profit organizations. I think being in public relations gives me a special understanding for working with brands and building relationships.
Me and my amazing Fella, William.
My super sweet and awesome boys, N and T.
